The Fabulous Caprettos in Cairns

The Fabulous Caprettos performed in Cairns on Saturday night and you could not cram an extra inch of talent onto the stage.
This band full of musicians and songwriters from legendary Australian bands included Jack Jones (Southern Sons), Rai Thistlethwaite (Thirsty Merc), Dave Gleeson (Screaming Jets), Joe Camilleri (The Black Sorrows) and Russell Morris. Together they are responsible for  A LOT of Australian musical anthems and they cover a span of some 50 years of Australian music from the 1960’s right through to the 2000’s.

Playing to an almost full capacity crowd who responded enthusiastically all evening with clapping and dancing in aisles it was quite simply like having 5 concerts in one with a steady stream of hits.

It was truly an amazing night of music.

It was also a poignant night of music as it marks the last time Russell Morris will play in our far northern city as he is soon to retire, at the age of 76, when asked what he plans to do he simply said go and do some fishing.
